Founded by Nisha and Nitya Mital, House of Shaya brings together two generations of design perspective-one shaped by decades of craftsmanship and industry experience, and the other by contemporary design education and a global outlook.
Nisha Mital has spent over 25 years in the fashion and textile industry. What began as a passion gradually evolved into a thriving business built through dedication, perseverance, and an enduring love for craft.
Over the years, she has collaborated with some of India's celebrated names, including Payal Jain, Satya Paul, Joy Mitra, Pratima Pandey, Bina Modi, Divyam Mehta, Fabindia, and Reliance (Swadesh). Her expertise lies in hand embroidery-a craft she has spent decades understanding, refining, and bringing to life.
Nitya Mital brings a contemporary design language to this foundation. A graduate in Textile Design from NIFT Delhi, she went on to pursue a Master's in Creative Direction from Polimoda, Italy, along with an Executive MBA from IIM Lucknow.
Her multidisciplinary education allows her to approach design through the lenses of craft, creativity, storytelling, and business-creating intricate pieces that honour their origins while speaking to the modern wearer.
